As a regular attendee of this "conference without fixed speakers", I wanted to offer a workshop on cross-platform app development with Xamarin for the first time this year. The content was intended to make it easy for interested developers and beginners alike to get started with Xamarin.Android and Xamarin.iOS. Accordingly, the app we built together was meant to stay simple.
Overwhelming demand
The organizers, namely Alexander Groß, Marcel Hoyer, and Torsten Weber, decided to go with this rather specialized topic. That made it all the more surprising to me that interest in this workshop day was so high that only a few days after registration opened, the course with its maximum of 20 participants was completely booked out.
A full day of Xamarin
On October 18, 2013, the day had finally come. For one full day, participants focused on developing apps with Xamarin. Despite a few smaller issues with the venue's internet connection, the feedback from the participants was consistently positive. I would like to thank all of them once again for that.
Sample code to revisit
In conclusion, and with quite a delay, all that remains is to fulfill my promise to publish the sample project on GitHub. If you would like to review the code, you can do so at https://github.com/CayasSoftware/RSSReader. Since we did not manage to implement everything during the workshop, I also added the feature for deleting RSS feeds afterward. That makes the sample more complete. Additional features such as asynchronous data loading can still be added by you.

As a mobile enthusiast and managing director of Cayas Software GmbH, it is very important to me to support my team and our customers in discovering new potential and growing together. Here I mainly write about the development of Android and iOS apps with Xamarin and .NET MAUI.
